Gebrselassie Will Not Be Alone In Berlin

2009 world leader will challenge world-record holder.
The 2009 real,- Berlin Marathon has announced Kenyan Ducan Kibet has been confirmed for the race on September 20th. Kibet won the 2009 Rotterdam Marathon with a world leading 2:04:27, placing him number-two all time. The only person to have run faster is world record holder Haile Gebrselassie of Ethiopia, who has run 2:04:26 and 2:03:59, which is the current world record. Haile ran both of those times in Berlin and will look to lower that world record at the race this year. The fast course through the German capital has hosted six world records since 1998, and will look for number seven this fall with the potentially epic battle between Kibet and Gebrselassie.
