The three-time Olympian regrets her “mistake.”
During her prime, Suzy Favor Hamilton was the dominant middle-distance runner in the U.S., setting numerous records and making the U.S. Olympic team in 1992, 1996 and 2000. Although she concluded her career without an Olympic medal, she held the fastest 1500m time in the world in 2000, won a bronze medal at the 1998 Goodwill Games and finished fifth at the 2002 world cross country championships.
She never really retired, but stopped competing after the 2004 season when she failed in her attempt to make a fourth Olympic team. Since then, she has been a frequent motivational speaker at running clinics and races and also authored, “Fast Track: Training and Nutrition Secrets from America’s Top Female Runner” in 2004. Her illustrious running career has included a Nike TV commercial, a swimsuit calendar, and ongoing promotional work for Disney.
But in the past year, she also found success with another career. According to a story on The Smoking Gun that launched today, she has spent the last year doubling as a $600-an-hour call girl, an astounding secret life that she now regretfully calls a “huge mistake.”
Beginning last December, Suzy Favor Hamilton, 44, has worked with one of Las Vegas’s premier escort services, booking scores of “dates” in Las Vegas and other U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston.
In college at Wisconsin between 1986-1991, she won a then-record nine NCAA individual titles and won four Big Ten Women’s Athlete of the Year Awards, an honor recently renamed to the “Suzy Favor Award.”
