Ecomarathoner Raising Funds For Japan Earthquake Victims

He’ll run Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle on June 25, his 591st marathon.

Hajime Nishi, the world’s first ecomarathoner author who had been running and writing his 584 international marathon experiences on seven continents in 72 countries to raise environmental, peace and humanitarian awareness for all and their future generations will visit Seattle from Tokyo to run the 2011 Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon as his 591st marathon on Saturday, June 25.

Also, he is on mission to promote the second annual Ecomarathon Inba aka ECO INBA, a run for the earthquake victims near Tokyo-Narita International Airport on April 1, 2012 to raise $50,000 for the earthquake victims. The inaugural ECO INBA on April 3, 2011 had raised over $20,000 from all entry fee and donations were sent to the earthquake victims.

ECO INBA has an unique time limit of more than 5 hours and less than 9 hours for first timers, walkers, joggers and slow runners to enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Inba and to enjoy trash picking up, cheering or taking photos each other with the fellow participants on the course.

He is the first person who run marathons on all seven continents in seven months in 1997. The Guinness Book of World Records had created an all new world record for his accomplishment in 1998. He is on mission to complete 1,000 marathons in 250 countries and regions by year 2049.

The runners, spectators and officials of RNRSM will find a Japanese runner who will stop over 100 times on the course to enjoy taking photos and smelling roses to share the natural beauty, cultural heritage and the friendliness of people of Seattle with the world.
