“Dream Mile” To Take Place In Oslo On Thursday

A Saudi runner has a good chance of upsetting the Kenyans.

On Thursday, Oslo, Norway will once again host the “Dream Mile” at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games.

Of the 69 world bests that have been established in Bislett’s speedy stadium, four have taken place in the mile and another three in the 1500m. There’s a good chance a record may take place this year. The field is chock-full of top-class talent.

Leading the way is the Kenyan Augustine Choge, who has established himself in the European circuit. Choge’s lifetime best is 3:50.14. However, his sub-3:30 1500m PR is a more impressive mark. Choge has also demonstrated versatility from the 800m all the way up to the 5000m.

Expected to give Choge a run for the money is Mohammed Shaween of Saudi Arabia. Shaween owns the third-fastest 1500m time in the world this year.

Also in the mix is the Olympic champion in the 1500m, Asbel Kiprop, who won the “Dream Mile” last year.

Helping the field along will be rabbits Vickson & Collins Cheboi of Kenya.
