There’s a lot of information to gather (and analyze) from 39,000 runners. 

The Chicago Marathon is one of the largest annual marathons in the world, with just over 39,000 runners finishing this year’s race. As you might imagine, there’s a lot of information about the participants that becomes available afterward, including average finish times, average split times for the first half of the race versus the second, how those values compare year over year, the number of finishers by age group and how many runners ran negative splits.
