Boston Finish Reclaimed By Red Sox Parade

Back in April, the city of Boston underwent an act of terrorism. Fear, sadness, and anger were the emotions that its residents felt in the wake of the bombings at the Boston Marathon.

However, six months later, things have changed.

Thanks to the victory of its beloved Red Sox in the World Series, the mood is that of celebration. Over the weekend, more than one million people came out to watch the victory parade where player Johnny Gomes rested the trophy on the famous line on Boylston Street. At that point, an announcer led the spectators to sing “God Bless America.”

“The last time I was standing on the streets of Boston was the day of the marathon, and I’d just like to say thank you to the Red Sox for bringing all these people back to the streets for something so great to celebrate,” said Laurie Delaney, an attendee of the parade.
