Bolt Signs Record Deal With Puma

Jamaican sprinter reported to be the highest paid track & field athlete in history.

Usain Bolt of Jamaica, who ended his track season early after losing to Tyson Gay in the 100 meters at the Diamond League Meeting in Stockholm a few weeks back, has reportedly inked a three-year contract extension with his sponsor, Puma–a deal which is said to be the richest ever for a track & field athlete.

Although the exact dollar amount hasn’t been released, the reigning world champion in the 100 and 200 meters who holds the world record in both events is “very happy with the figure” according to a report on ESPN.com.

Bolt, who first signed with Puma at the age of 16, will be the key figure in Puma’s Olympic marketing program and use him to help develop performance footwear as well as apparel.
