Bolt, Gay, Powell To Do Battle In Stockholm

Highly anticipated 100-meter showdown set for next Friday.

Usain Bolt, the reigning world and Olympic champion in both the 100 and 200 meters who also holds the world record in both events, has committed to run the 100 meters at DN Galan Diamond League meeting in Stockholm next Friday. He will face off against his countryman Asafa Powell as well as American sprint sensation Tyson Gay for the first time this season.

Next Friday’s highly-anticpated showdown will be the first time the three fastest sprinters in the world have squared off against one another since last summer’s 100-meter final at the World Championships in Berlin. Bolt won that race in world-record time and was followed across the line by Gay and Powell, respectively. The trio is also scheduled to compete against each other a second time this season at the Diamond League finale in Brussels on August 27.
