The Benefits of Running Backward
Work muscles that don't normally get worked during your warmup by running backward.

This is an interesting way to warm up your legs—simply run backward. It opens up your glutes, hamstrings and quad muscles. And since your legs may not be used to it, running backward will activate muscles that typically don’t get work.
Run for 15-20 seconds and do it three times in all.
