Awards Company Chips In For Boston Victims

They sold $3,000 worth of One Fund pins and donated an additional $10,000.

Kim and Dan Ashworth are in the awards business. Their company, Ashworth Awards, is the industry leader in supplying runner medallions to races throughout the world.

However, the couple is in the news not for a fancy medal that their company crafted; rather, thanks to special Boston Strong pins that Ashworth Awards fabricated, a total of $3,000 was raised for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings in April.

On top of that, the company donated $10,000 to the fund at the end of last month.

The couple released the following joint statement: “There is nothing more important than supporting your community, especially in a time of need. Ashworth Awards is proud to stand by Boston’s running community and be a part of the One Fund Boston’s strive to aid those who were affected on April 15, 2013. As the awards company who manufactures the Boston Marathon medallions, contributing to the One Fund Boston is the best way of showing love and support to the city of Boston and those who suffered while watching and partaking in this historic race.”
