The shop includes an old New York City subway car from 1961.
Asics has opened up a new running store in Manhattan, mere blocks away from Times Square.
The shop, located on 42nd Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway, has a floor-to-ceiling window on the front of the building and an old New York City Subway car from the 1960s, according to wwd.com.
The shop opened last week—just in time for Sunday’s New York City Marathon, which passes near Times Square.
The subway car, which was discovered abandoned in the Mohave Desert last year, is from 1961 and was refurbished before it was taken to New York. At the Asics store, the car holds running shoes and gear.
Asics also has another store in New York City’s Meatpacking District, located south and west of Times Square but still in Manhattan.
