2LT Jacob Bradosky won the men’s race, while Janet Cherobon took the women’s title.
A late surge at the 20-mile mark was all Jacob Bradosky needed to win the 35th Marine Corps Marathon in the nation’s capital on Sunday. His finishing time was 2:23:30–a 20-second PR.
“I was told to run the first 20 miles with my head and the last six with my heart,” Bradosky said, “and that worked very well.”
In the women’s division, registered nurse Janet Cherobon, a Kenyan who will be sworn in as an American citizen on November 10, won handily with the fifth-fastest time ever, 2:42:38.
