We have a confession. We eat a LOT of food in our office. (Seriously, it might be a problem.) Whether it’s starting the day with protein-packed oatmeals, sipping on plant-based smoothies in the afternoon or chowing down on caffeinated energy bars before runs, we’re always excited to check out the latest in greatest in sports nutrition. So this week, we’re showcasing some of our favorite snacks items tested by yours truly (aka, the Competitor crew).
3 p.m. Bites – $4.50 per bag
These delectable little morsels deliver a balance of protein, nutrients and natural sweetness in each bite-sized serving. Designed as a quick and easy source of clean energy for athletes, the bites are a blend of dates, crunchy puffed quinoa and hemp seeds, along with other tasty flavors. With names like Peanut Truffles, Chocolate Cravings and Coffee Cravings, it’s hard to resist not eating the whole bag.
Grass Fed Coffee – $15/pack of 3
This LA-based coffee maker specializes in butter coffee, a keto-friendly way to enjoy your morning java. The individually-packaged coffees are created using only grass-fed butter, fair-trade coffee extract and MCT oil. Toss them in the fridge or throw one over ice as a great source for some pre-workout energy. And don’t worry, there isn’t a strong butter taste, so coffee purists, you’ll still enjoy this beverage.
Swig Champagne Flute – $19.95
Okay, so maybe this isn’t running or health-related…necessarily. But this weekend, we’ll be celebrating Memorial Day, so we figured we’d introduce you to the Swig Champagne flute. These 6 oz stemless flutes come in a variety of colors and are vacuum insulated, allowing your bubbly to stay cool up to six hours. Made with stainless steel, they also have a BPA-free push-seal lid and copper coated insulation. Plus, they’re just plain cute, simple as that.
ParmCrisps Trios – $3.99
These snack packs are a great source of protein on the go and come in three flavors featuring different cheese and fruits. They’ve quickly became a staple in our travel bags, saving us from overpriced and unhealthy airport food. These portable protein powerhouses are definitely worth a spot in your lunch box, or kitchen, office snack drawer, car, bedroom, gym bag… The possibilities are endless really.
Oats Overnight – $3.99
Some of us aren’t really morning people in the office (we won’t name names), so having something quick to grab for breakfast is essential. And if that something is protein-packed and healthy, that’s an added bonus. We tried out Oats Overnight recently and have quickly become fans of the product. Available in various flavors, the oats all come packed with nutrients such as flax, chia, maca and 349 grams of protein. To enjoy, pour 8 0z of milk into a small container, let sit overnight and then grab on your way out in the morning.
