Staff Blog: In A Giving Mood
Enter a photo for the chance to win a GPS watch!
One of the many perks of being an editor at a running magazine is the loads of new product that end up at my desk on a weekly basis — whether I request to have them sent to me or not! Admittedly, there are worse problems to have than hoarding dozens of pairs of running shoes, testing out multiple speed-distance devices and storing away enough nutrition products to fuel a run across the country that will likely never happen. So, in the spirit of the holiday season, I’m going to give some of my excess stuff away.
Up for grabs this week is a brand new Magellan Switch Up GPS watch. I have one that I’m currently testing myself, so I’m giving away the extra one. This easy-to-use, all-in-one unit can be used for running, cycling, swimming, or any number of outdoor activities where you might want to track speed and distance. It has a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, high-sensitivity GPS tracker and is water resistant to 50 meters. You can create up to nine activity profiles, customize screens and alerts and easily transfer all of your data online. The product retails for $349.
How can you get this GPS watch from me? Simply e-mail me (mfraioli@competitorgroup.com) a photo of the raddest run you’ve been on recently, along with a short description of the run’s location and what makes it so rad. I will take submissions through midnight on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. On Thursday morning, I will choose my top-10 favorite submissions and post them to a photo gallery that will stay pinned at the top of the timeline on our Competitor Running Facebook page. Once the gallery goes live, voting will be opened up to all of our Facebook fans. The submission that receives the most “likes” by midnight on Friday, November 30, 2012 will be declared the winner of the giveaway. I will e-mail the person who sent me the winning submission once the contest is closed and re-post the winning photo to our Facebook page next Monday.
Start sending me your photos! I look forward to checking out all of your rad runs.
