Nike Unveils “Space Cabin”

Never shy of embracing technology, Nike has unveiled a new post-run ice bath substitute: the cryosauna.

New cryosauna acts as a substitute for ice baths.

As if Alter-G treadmills and high-altitude houses weren’t enough for its athletes, Nike has unveiled the latest weapon in its arsenal of high-tech running machines: the cryosauna. A metallic cylinder with liquid-nitrogen-cooled air, the newly developed cryosauna cools the skin down to 30 degrees Fahrenheit and penetrates just half a millimeter and act as a substitute to the ice bath. Running technology fan Dathan Ritzenhein was supposedly the first member of the Nike team to give it a shot.

Ritzenhein’s coach, Alberto Salazar,  likes it as well. “It feels like walking out into the coldest day of the year, naked,” he said.
