New Books About The Boston Marathon

Six new titles will be hitting bookstores in coming weeks.

Six new titles will be hitting bookstores in coming weeks.

There have been many great books written about the Boston Marathon through the years, including “Boston Marathon” (Tom Derderian), “Young at Heart: The Story of Johnny Kelley, Boston’s Marathon Man” (Frederick Lewis), “The Boston Marathon: A Century of Blood, Sweat, and Cheers” (Bill Rodgers foreword) and “Boston Marathon: The Legendary Course Guide” (Raymond Britt). Six new books about the Boston Marathon will be hitting bookstores in the coming weeks, three of which focus primarily on the tragic events of last year’s race. To some extent, what happened at last year’s Boston Marathon is probably left in the past. But from another point of view, it’s part of history now and reading about it can help bring greater appreciation for the victims and first responders and, perhaps, also start to bring closure. Scroll through to read brief overviews of each of the six new books.
