Mizuno’s “Run With Us” Campaign Recognizes 10,000th Visitor

Mizuno USANorcross, GA (August 14, 2009) – Mizuno, a leader in running footwear and apparel, announced today that their successful running promotion, “Run With Us” has provided a Mizuno Precision Fit® biomechanical gait analysis to their 10,000th mobile tech lab visitor.  The “Run With Us” promotion has traveled across the continental United States, visiting specialty running retailers, sporting goods stores, as well as running expos and marathons.

The “Run With Us” grassroots campaign is a mobile running tech lab designed to provide expert analysis and recommendation for runners of all skill levels.  It features a grand scale technical van which houses two of Mizuno’s state-of-the-art Precision Fit® terminals.  There, consumers are provided an innovative and thorough biomechanical analysis of their foot type and running needs.  The Precision Fit® procedure determines which type of Mizuno running shoe best suits the runner’s foot type, running style, and running goals.

Runners are also given a chance to “test ride” Mizuno footwear and go for a run with a Mizuno tech specialist knowledgeable about the entire Mizuno product line to provide expert advice tailored to the consumer.  On display are Mizuno’s Wave Technology® footwear, with models featuring the latest Gender EngineeringTM technology, which accounts for the differences in running styles between men and women.  All participants in the “Run With Us” program receive a free Mizuno DryscienceTM T-Shirt.  Those who don’t have the time for the full Precision Fit® process can still take a test ride of Mizuno’s footwear, and also receive a free pair of Mizuno performance running socks.

In July of 2009, Mizuno introduced new enhancements to “Run With Us”, including pre-registration, which allows consumers to test run a pair of Mizuno’s high performance award-winning footwear in a more efficient manner.  These changes have enhanced the overall customer and retail partner experience.

“The Run With Us promotion has been a huge success for Mizuno,” said Fritz Taylor, Vice President and General Manager of the Running Division, Mizuno USA.  “The new elements have created a more enjoyable experience for runners and our retail partners.  We expect the promotion will continue to produce sales and create strong consumer relationships.”

“The Run With Us was great.  It attracted a lot of attention and captured several customers who would never have thought of shopping at a run specific store for their running shoes.  Overall a great experience.”

“What an invaluable tool to have at my Run Club that strengthens the importance of the proper “fit” to my runners with regards to the shoes on their feet.”

“Run With Us” made its debut at the 2008 ING Georgia Marathon, before touring the Eastern United States.  With the success of the promotion in its first year, a second truck was introduced on the West Coast.  Since that time, nearly 350 “Run With Us” events have taken place.
