Friday Faceplant: Young Boy Races Elite Marathoners And Trips

This young fan was in the lead until gravity got the better of him.

This young fan was in the lead until gravity got the better of him.

An eager and ambitious young Scottish lad takes a tumble in an attempt to run with the elite at the Commonwealth Games’ women’s marathon on July 27. His competitors, Kenyan long-distance runners Flomena Daniel and Caroline Kilel, had no idea that they had a very brief, third contender in the field as they ran through Glasglow, Scotland with only a few miles left in the race.

Daniel finished in 2:26:45, taking first place, and Kilel came in a close second of 2:27:10. Little did they know they could have been outrun by a spectating boy, had it not been for that fall (most likely the fault of a crack in the asphalt).
