Friday Faceplant: Spanish Athlete Knocked Unconscious By Nasty Steeplechase Fall

Victor Garcia’s race ended abruptly after tripping over the last hurdle in his 3,000-meter steeplechase heat this past Tuesday at the European Championships in Zurich, Switzerland. The nasty fall briefly knocked the Spaniard out cold as he lay motionless on the track. However, medical professionals were able to revive Garcia and have him standing and walking in no time.

According to a UK news source The Telegraph, Garcia luckily suffered no lasting injuries, but has no recollection of the incident. He also experienced a similar tumble at the 2012 European Championships, but managed to pick himself up immediately and finish the race. It seems Garcia is cursed—or has loose shoelaces.
