In this Boston Marathon Minute, race director Dave McGillivray discusses the B.A.A.’s view on the qualification standards. In recent years, some runners who meet the qualifying standard still don’t get into the race due to the high demand of entrants (for the 2015 race, for example, runners had to qualify at least 62 seconds faster than the qualifying standard). Is this a trend McGillivray is comfortable with?
