We’re a little under a week away from the Boston Marathon and our eyes are on Team USA as they gear up to finish on top this Patriot’s Day. Before we get fully underway, here’s a quick look at the Hansons-Brooks team eying the podium this year:

Taking on the iconic 26.2-mile route will be Original Distance Project (ODP) runners Desiree Linden, Dathan Ritzenhein and Shadrack Biwott and Brooks runner Ryan Vail. After two fourth-place finishes on Boylston street, two-time Olympian Desiree Linden is looking to clinch a top spot this year following her winter speed-work training.

Three-time Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein will run his first marathon with the Hansons-Brooks ODP team under the guidance of coaches Keith and Kevin Hanson. Ritzenhein has been training with teammate and fourth place finisher at last year’s Boston Marathon Shadrack Biwott. Missing the podium in 2017 by one spot, Biwott is back again to secure a win in 2018.

Ryan Vail will compete in the marathon following an eighth-place finish at the Berlin Marathon last fall as the only US competitor in the elite field. Vail has three top-10 World Marathon Majors finishes and aims to make Boston his fourth.
